Our Mentor - Laura Sakos
Systems Engineer for MITRE Corporation
Laura Sakos is a retired USAF Communications Officer. She earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Science before going into the Air Force, and earned a Master's degree in International Relations while she was assigned in Germany. She has been working at MITRE for 15 years as a Systems Engineer with the Air Force and Navy. She studies for replacement of radio communication systems on aircraft for the Air Force and Navy. She models systems using software tools in Systems Modeling Language, and writes requirements for systems that the Air Force or Navy are upgrading or replacing. She is an expert on aircraft mission systems in a particular mission area.
